I made a poster.

1. Ive discovered that I really enjoy making posters and bookcovers.
2. Im gonna get this guy printed just because.
3. I should start using Shades as an alias. I can be the Neo of design.
4. I think I'm gonna steal this idea for a school assignment...is it considered plagiarism if youre copying yourself?

I painted a blob and then drew lines and shapes around it. I like it.

I was at the York bookstore, flipping through an art magazine. Page after page I thought to myself "I can do this, this isn't hard". But then I realized, how can I do this, if I don't actually start doing it?

All I do is sketch and doodle and that has to change. So thus, this is the beginning of me actually doing it. I'm actually gonna make things!

The worst part about it, is that upon finishing this painting, my dad comes up to me and goes "You really should be in illustration." Thanks Dad, I've known that for a while now.

A boy.

My sketches of people are still rather...sketchy. Its surprising that I drew a guy, as I generally lean towards doodling girls (mostly because I think my guys are never as attractive as the real thing) but I really do wish I could make things look more realistic without having to use a life models as a guide. I think the secret to conquering lies within perfecting 2 crucial things: foreshortening + faces.

Time to get practicing I guess.

Inspired by a mix of Olympic spirit, patriotism and late winter snow storms. I'm just now slowly figuring out how different media reacts to the paper in my little (fake) moleskin. Being a pencil crayon/Prismacolor expert, I can't say Im overly enthusiastic as to how the crayons cover, but alas...guess I'll have to make it work.

Bald, boney, naked alien beings love tea just as much as anybody. I fixed the picture in real life and gave her a spoon after i realized that she might want some sugar with her tea.

Gotta say though, purchasing a (non-leather) moleskin was just possibly one of the best ideas Ive had in weeks. What a compact, classy little book it is. I need to stock up on 0.2 pens though. Anyone wanna contribute to the fund?

This was supposed to be for the Counterparts album, but Ive got something else brewing for that one instead, so now I have this and I desperately want to finish it and use it for something extraordinarily amazing...the question is, what?

Ive been working on this design for quite a few days now. The big plan is for this to be rendered with some watercolour business going on in the background...which, if all goes well will end up getting used for something pretty excited :)

If theres anyone who reads this, do you think she should have real hands and real lips, or should i carry the line motiff to her hands as well?

I find it humorous that the angrier the topic of my inspiration is the more cutesy and delicate the final product is. I suppose that says a lot about me.

Perhaps one day, when I'm not incredibly broke and unemployed this shall become a reality. Im so incredibly tempted, however I dont think that even with sufficient cash flow I would have enough balls to do it. Im alright with anywhere else, but when it comes to my arms and chest I get real nervous even considering getting a tattoo. Maybe the best idea for now, is to actually get my existing piece finished hah...maybe not.

Ugh, looks so good tho! If i wasnt myself, and if i was male (or gay) I so would...I love narcissism.
